Rovinj concluded 2025 with exceptionally strong tourism results, confirming its status as one of Croatia’s leading tourist destinations. The year ended on a high note, marked by record visitor numbers during the Advent and holiday season, further underscoring the continued growth of tourism traffic in the shoulder season.
Between 24 December 2025 and 4 January 2026, a total of 29,548 overnight stays were recorded, representing a 3% increase compared to the same period of the previous year. The most numerous visitors during this period were guests from Austria and Croatia, each accounting for 23%, followed by visitors from Slovenia (17%), Germany (11%), and Serbia (5%).
Advent in Rovinj, held from 12 December 2025 to 10 January 2026, was assessed as one of the most successful to date, both in terms of attendance and the diversity and quality of its programme. The events were designed for all age groups and took place at several locations throughout the city, with the main Advent venue located at Marshal Tito Square. Particular attention was drawn by the return of the ice rink, which once again became an important gathering place for residents and visitors alike.
A significant contribution to the festive programme was also made by the Batana Ecomuseum, which, through its gastronomic and cultural offerings, music programmes, children’s workshops and traditional carousel, further highlighted the authenticity and identity of Rovinj.
New Year’s Eve celebrations attracted a large number of visitors of all generations – the youngest welcomed the New Year at noon with a festive fireworks display, while the evening programme featured concerts by the band Grooversi and the legendary band Plavi orkestar.
Throughout 2025, a total of 4,376,910 overnight stays and 770,840 arrivals were recorded, representing an increase of 4% in overnight stays and 5% in arrivals compared to the same period last year.
The highest number of overnight stays during this period was generated by German guests, with a 32% share (3% more compared to the same period last year), followed by Austrian guests with a 14% share (1% less), domestic guests with a 6% share (13% more), Italian guests with a 6% share (2% more), and Slovenian guests with a 5% share (11% more).
By type of accommodation, the largest number of overnight stays was recorded in campsites (45%), followed by private accommodation (22%), hotels (21%), and tourist resorts (10%).
